Mr. C

David Caldwell

I am a multi-disciplinary creative. Previously a graphic designer for global brands, I am now a full-time artist and fine art photographer. My photographic work is inspired by the natural world and aims to capture a strong sense of mood and presence..sometimes dramatic, sometimes serene.

Texture, light and form play a strong part in bringing these qualities to the forefront. My recent work explores the ever changing weather patterns which affect the landscapes around our coastal shores and countryside. I love to experience the rugged beauty of natural landscapes.

More about David

I studied at the Laird School of Art and discovered my passion in printmaking. This has influenced my 40 years in the creative industry. In the 90’s I embraced the emerging digital technologies, combining these with my traditional printmaking skills and photography.

I showcase my fine art photography and print at various galleries and art fairs:

In 2018 I exhibited at the Menier Gallery, London.

During 2019 at the Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair, the Affordable Art Fair Battersea, Bell House, Dulwich, and won the public vote during an exhibition at the Anna Lovely Gallery.

In 2021 I was short-listed for the Boodle Hatfield Printmaking Prize whilst exhibiting at the Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair 2020.

Also 2021 as part of the joint campaign with Campari and the Affordable Art Fair, known as Art Without Walls, my work was displayed on digital advertising screens on bus shelters throughout East London. I also showcased my black and white fine art photography at ECAD Gallery.

During 2022 I exhibited at the Anna Lovely Gallery, the Dulwich Arts Festival, the Affordable Art Fair Battersea, the Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair, and the Affordable Art Fair Hampstead in 2023.

My works are mainly held in private collections both in the UK and abroad.
